Molinukas is a traditional instrument used in Lithuanian folk music. It closely resembles an ocarina. However, it is not only a musical instrument but also a toy. These whistles are colorfully decorated – quite often you will find motifs of various animals and birds on them. Traditionally, molinukai are made by hand from clay.
This book is illustrated with photos of the clay whistles – molinukai. The small instruments themselves are part of the collections of M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art.
