This is a catalogue for the exhibition “Your beauty I see... From Čiurlionis to Kairiūkštis – Lithuanian Art of the First Half of the 20th Century”, which was presented in 2020 in National Museum in Szczecin. The exhibition of this scale, organized by the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art and the National Museum in Szczecin, which in detail represents a very significant period in the history of Lithuanian art, was held for the first time. In the halls of the early modernist style building of the National Museum in Szczecin, the curators decided to present close to 100 works of art, carefully selected from the Kaunas collection. In addition to the paintings of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875–1911), works by artists such as Petras Kalpokas (1880–1945), Petras Rimša (1881–1961), Antanas Žmuidzinavičius (1876–1966), Antanas Samuolis (1899–1942), Adomas Galdikas (1893–1969), Antanas Gudaitis (1904–1989), Viktoras Vizgirda (1904–1993) were exhibited. It represented the turn of the century and reflected the guidelines for the formation of the Lithuanian art school.
The catalogue is available in three languages: Polish, German and Lithuanian (Lithuanian translations are provided at the end of the book). The catalogue begins with three essays presenting the idea of the exhibition, Lithuanian art trends of the first half of the 20th century, and the history of the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. It also contains to the point descriptions of the exhibition's artists. The catalog is richly illustrated with reproductions and photographs of the artworks presented in National Museum in Szczecin.
