For the first time all  correspondence of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis in two languages - Polish and Lithuanian –is presented in this publication. The letters are given in chronological order. Thus opportunity for dialogue between the artist and family members, friends, acquaintances and patrons occurs. Extensive comments and abundant illustrations seem to place the artist in his native Druskininkai surroundings, as well as among artists and intellectuals from Leipzig, Warsaw, Vilnius and St. Petersburg. This is the first volume of a two-volume publication that includes 195 letters out of 291.
