This book is the sixth volume in the series "Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art Studies". It is an attempt to draw from a generous source and present to the reader today's world of Čiurlionis's reception, in which various theoretical and methodological approaches, insights, and feelings become valid. With M. K. Čiurlionis we reflect on our present and ourselves. For us, the work of this prominent artist is an axial time of internal and historical experience, a special mental endurance, in which we discover the world, presented and hidden at the same time. "Čiurlionis and World" is not only the topographic dimension of universal research. It is a relentless experience of the artist's ingenious opening to the spiritual, intellectual, as well as temporal and spatial, physical and metaphysical worlds, permeating different eras, generations of people, society, and science.
The preface, summary, presentation of texts' authors, and table of contents are available in both Lithuanian and English. Articles by Lithuanian authors are published in Lithuanian and by foreign authors in English.
