Brass pendant II
Author: Mantas Mikulevičius
The brass suns created by the artist Mantas Mikulevičius are subtly presented in wooden frames. Ornamental motifs of stars, hearts, the moon, crosses, flowers (tulips, lilies), and various twigs are used in the suns. And as the tradition dictates, all of them are surrounded by rays of the sun. The artist perceives these suns as a symbol of success that protects against evil. It is a fusion of Christian and folk traditions that have retained the features of pre-Christian culture, conveying the beauty of faith and nature.
