Sun crosses IV, without a rack

Author: Vitalis Grigas
Material: Metal
Width: 6-7 cm

In the old Lithuanian tradition, the sun is considered a symbol of light and fire and is associated with inexhaustible life energy. In cross crafting, the sun is depicted with ornaments of plants and geometric shapes, derived from images of nature, which were later combined with Christian symbols. Thus, the cross-sun represents both the old Lithuanian faith, which worshiped nature and its phenomena, and Christianity.
